Can anyone give me a ball park range in value of a WW2 vintage 1911A1? The slide is by Colt, the receiver is by Remington Rand, rebuilt at Springfield Armory. Appears to be all USGI. Condition is good to very good.

no idea but when the CMP starts selling the 1911's the government is releasing the values of existing 1911's may go down.

Cali don't get your hopes up on this happening. The house bill did contain the passing of the 1911's to the CMP BUT it was stripped out of the senate bill. Right now it's caught in between in arbitration between the house and senate along with a couple of thousand other parts of the bills. Odds are it will not survive which is too bad.

That's no surprise, is it? In this political climate, they might well decide to scrap them rather than let CMP sell them. What a terrible waste that would be.

I've been keeping my eyes on the bill's progress, hoping against hope, but reality intervenes....

Hi Hunterman1. I try to help:-) I have a Springfield Armory rebuilt (Colt slide, Ithaca frame) Oct 1944 1911A1. Condition is very good. I paid in my country in year 1990 about 1400 swiss francs (value today ca. 1800 swiss francs). Today you pay here about 1500 swiss francs (ca. 1530 US Dollars for a 1911A1, from fair to good condition. The prices increased the last ten years in Switzerland. On gun shows in Switzerland USGI 1911A1 are very rare today. So the prices depend on availability.
By the way there is a Remington Rand (slide) Colt (frame) RIA rebuilt on gunbroker. Very good condition. Comes with a Graton&Knight 1943 M1916 Holster for 1850 USD. You must be logged in to see this link.

It all depends on condition. Rebuilt does not have the value as an original but in this day and age it's what ever the market will bring. Most go in the $900 to $1500 range depending on condition and how rare parts on it are. Your 1911A1 is mostly common parts so if in real good condition I would hazard a guess of $1000 to $1200. It's not what they are going for at the auctions but what they are selling for in most gun shops as the ones in auctions with high prices just don't sell.

rhineriver1 and Tuna,
Thank you for your help. I failed to see the one Gunbroker auction and I did not see any re-built 1911s listed.
