As a resident of California and a somber yet hopeful gun owner I implore you all to read this piece.

Battered Gun Owner Syndrome and the Fight for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms

It illustrates the importance of anti-gun States in the Right To Keep and Bear Arms (RKBA) fight for our nation. Essentially, anti-gun states set the Constitutional Minimums for gun rights. A win in an anti gun state is a HUGE win for the rest of the country. We NEED your help in CA! This is not a advert for donations, we need your MORAL support. Of course donations help as well, CGF runs on volunteer work and litigation takes money!

Please check out You must be logged in to see this link., the Non-Profit Civil Rights Litigation organization, and You must be logged in to see this link., the forum where California gun owners meet to discuss, trade and organize. They are two different organizations, CGF is a non-profit and CGN is a for-profit business.

For reference, The Calguns Foundation was influential in Heller V DC, they've worked with Alan Gura and Don Kilmer on a number of projects, as well as coordinated with The Second Amendment Foundation on projects and resources.

Again, what happens in California effects the rest of the states!

Please remember, the California "Assault Weapons" ban was used as justification for the Federal "Assault Weapons" ban. What happens in CA matters!

By the way, we are no longer using the term "Assault Weapon", the correct nomenclature is "a banned semi-automatic rifle". This forces an explanation from the state, not the gun owner. We also currently have legislation pending to strike down the CA ban on some semi-automatic rifles - You must be logged in to see this link.
