Were the "C" style end caps on the 1943 era either type I or II marked in anyway? Trying to find a 1943 era sling and just want to make sure it's not a reproduction. An other thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

No, the "C-tabs" were not marked. What you need to look at is the webbing. That is what tells you if the sling is real or a repro.

Some slings were marked on the webbing, I just sold an SN marked sling that was used by NPM, here are others. You must be logged in to see this link.

OK-The one i'm looking at has "RAU Fastener Co., Providence, R.I." stamped into the snap piece.
