OK, I'll ask the question

What is the general consensus on Bump Stocks?

I know they have them for the many AR15 varients and AKs. I don't think I have seen any designed for the M1 Carbine.

The rod and gun club range where I am a member does not allow automatic weapons and prohibits bump firing. Personally, I would not be able to afford the ammo at that rate of fire.

It does seem reasonable to either outlaw or at least restrict these things with new laws.

BUT...the left's admission that it would only be the beginning of new efforts to restrict guns make me inclined to dig in my heels and say NO!

I was a bit surprised when I saw these things being marketed legally. I can't see how the cone-heads missed this one. I can see that mechanically it does not interfere with the sear engagement and only assist the trigger-finger in resetting the trigger. I guess that's how it got by. I'm not for any new gun laws....period and I think the shooter in Vegas could have done enough damage with a semi-auto and some drum magazines. I think the military figured out that in mass use, full-auto results in a lot of wasted ammo and noise. Three shot burst encourages shooting well-aimed shots.

I agree completely. I think that one reason the carbine got a bad rep in Korea was because the troops were panic firing their M2 Carbines at the attacking enemy and muzzle climb was throwing them off target. Then they thought the carbine was at fault when the enemy didn't go down...

By the way, the BATF actually reviewed the Bump Stocks at the request of the company that wanted to market them. BATF ruled they were legal. This was around 2010, during Obama's reign.

Possibly not desired but absolutely completely protected under the Second Amendment. ... ...

Yep. The Constitution these days is treated as a list of suggestions at best, or at the worst, found to have hidden meanings, or just ignored.

It is no longer worth the parchment paper it is written on...

Would you trade bump stocks for suppressors?

If Schumer and Feinstein; Pelosi too, and the rest of the odious crowd could be trusted to limit their activism to the Bump Stock only I'd say perhaps we can talk about it. BUT we know True Believers will never stop, so we cannot give an inch!

The Brady Center bunch have filled a law suits against the makers of the stocks in question on behalf of three of the victim. Didn't take long for them to try and grab the center of attention. Don't forget to add the likes of Warren on the list of the odious crowd. Pocahontas is right up there with the rest of them.

You know Warren well. She is also known as Chief Spreading Bull, or just The Fake Indian.
