I've been doing some research on my 1929 Colt Official Police, specifically the proper walnut grips. How many of us M1 guys are also experts on this firearm? Any info would be helpful, also there is a colt collectors gun show coming to the St. Louis are in October so if I had my facts straight I might not get duped. Mine has the late 40's to early 50's "coltwood" plastic grips that I thought maybe could trade up at the show for the proper.

The Official Police (pre war) had checkered walnut grips. I don't know what else to tell you but you may find someone who needs the plastic grips. Good luck finding what you need.

Thanks, I've been seeing some with silver, gold, and brown medallions. Some had different checkering and hard to find out what was original to time period. Hoping someone on site had at least one close to same year

I would think the silver colored medallions would be correct for a 1929 pistol.
