Has anyone here had any experience with this caliber ? Got this carbine several months ago, is built on a Winchester receiver, most if not all is Winchester except barrel. Really is a fun cartridge, case forming is a snap, were using CH4D custom dies, 22 Hornet bullets, 40 & 45 gr with IMR 4227 powder. Have looked on this forum for info on it but have not found, maybe just me.
Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

There were several commercial carbine manufacturers that offered the 5.7 carbine (aka Spitfire, Johnson, 22/30, etc.). Here's a link that might interest you.

It was not a commercial success for any company making it. I saw one of Johnson made conversions. The rifle was sitting in a gun shop month after month with the shop owner dropping the price. Came with empty brass and loaded ammo but it sat and sat till he took it to another dealer and got rid of it in a trade after having for about a year and a half.

If I ran across one for a good price...I'd have to have it.

Thanks for the replies, every little bit helps. I did have quite an e-mail exchange with Jim Mock, he was most helpful. Guess we were just looking for any first hand experience with this cartridge.
Happy Thanks Giving to all. Woof woof Gus an me, (Dave)

If I remember right Johnson was loading his ammo with IMR 4227 and a 40 gr. bullet for 2800 fps.
I am not sure but seem to think it was about 13.5 to 14 grs of powder but don't hold me to that as it's been a long time.
