Hey guys I am pretty new to the sight and recently picked up what I think is a pretty nice little m1 just wondering if any of you guys could give me some general info on maybe when it was made and if I payed to much for it is a pretty eralt serial number Winchester with what looks to be all Winchester parts I doubt very seriously this ever saw the war it has original sling and magazine as well shoots flawless and serial number is 10900xxx
I will be trying to get back with some pictures soon but I am having trouble uploading them at the moment
Really looking forward to learning more about these things!

Hi and welcome to the M1 Carbine forum from New Mexico!

I assume you mean the serial number is 1,090,xxx. If so, it's a fairly early Winchester and should have seen some action. Post your pictures on an image hosting web site like Photobucket or Imgur and copy and paste the link here.

A good starting place for new owners to learn about the M1 carbine is Craig Riesch's book "U. S. M1 Carbines, Wartime Production".
