If they aren't either Fulton or James River Armory carbines, they'll not be held in much regard.

I have a pretty clear picture of how non-military M1 Carbines are viewed. While they many not be the most robust arms, they are, however on the market and will likely remain. People will buy them, make certain they run well, and will repair them if needed.

Granted, the A/O rifles have had tolerance problems. Even after the "soft bolt" problems are resolved, the initial shortcomings will probably plague the Inland line as long as it remains in production. (Remember the self-limiting "frame cracking" problems that haunted Colt's Delta Elite)? I presume that this phenomena will rear it's ugly head with the Inland rifles, even if the problems have been eliminated. "Old wives tales" and rumors die hard.

There are a lot of "stiff necks" here. And that's too bad, because minds usually work better when they're open.

Not so Cap.... Plainfields are pretty well regarded. So are Howas and carbines built on Springfield receivers. Some of the Ermas are pretty good too, but you have to watch for receiver stretching on some of them.

I probably should have qualified this with the entry-level Carbines currently being manufactured.

Sorry, I have moved and have had to put everything into storage. A friend is holding things for me (including my Ruger AR 5.56).

Everything is on hold.
