Just found this at an Army Navy surpluss store for $15. Is it real or a repro and did I overpay?

Webbing looks okay. Fastener ist original Rau. It seems you have a real type 1 pocket, magazine, double web. Is there an "U.S." marking on the flap?

Yes, it does have a large US on the flap, I'm not sure why I didn't think to take a picture of it. It is there but it is a bit faded. There is also some really faded stuff on the back that is partial covered by what looks like scribbling with a Sharpee. . This was the only stock pouch they had but there were around 10 other pouches. I might go back and pick up four of the other pouchs.

It looks like an original wwII type 1, pocket, magazine, double web for the M1 Carbine. All type 1, aka "stock pouch" were made during wwII only. some of the strange painting on your pocket could be unit markings. The white colour looks korean for me?? But I'm not sure. There are some experts on You must be logged in to see this link. forum for web equipment. Maybe they have the right answer for you. And, please, dont try to wash your pocket. It could shrink and you will loose the original colour. Unfortunately I made this expierience some years back:-)

No scub brush and water at all or just no washing machine?

My opinion is, leave it as it is. I only take a dry clothbrush to clean it. No water and no washmachine. If you do that you have the risk of shrinking the pocket and it will loose some of the original dyeing. All the dirt and dust is part of its history.-)

I paid $16.13 after tax. Was that a good price? Also they had about 10 other pouches for the same price but they were not stock pouches. Assuming they are USGI are they worth buying? Any manufacturers to avoid or any that are worth more money?

You paid a fair price. Any manufacturer is okay. The quality is the same. The "non stock pouches" are interesting for collectors to.
