Hi and welcome; Most likely a rebuild which most are. Is it an auction or FTF sale? Look for anything suspicious or anything looking recently replaced. The more Rock-ola parts the better, mainly receiver, barrel. What type of stock? High or low wood? Look in slingwell for manuf. mark. What is the asking price? If the price seems hi, then do more research and give us more info. and ask more questions. Estimated avg. price starts around $800. I hope this helps getting started. GK

Welcome from New Mexico! Be sure to look for import marks on the barrel and/or the receiver. This is something to consider in deciding how much to offer. Usually $100 - 150 less on a rebuild.

Hey Ken,

Sounds high to me for a rebuild. For that price it should have a lot of Rockola parts and be in great condition with a decent bore. The bayonet and mag pouch helps a little. Also, early Rockola's should have a flat bolt.

Jack is right it's well over priced by about $400 at least for a rebuilt carbine. The stock, the sights, barrel band and bolt were all changed during rebuilding. The M4 depends on which version it is as to the value of it. The magazine pouch is not worth a lot compared to the carbine.

We are haggling. I would like to have it; but. We will see what happens.

It followed me home today!
I am sure to have more questions
when I have a chance to remove
the stock. Thanks in advance.
