It's been a couple of years now that CMP has been out of carbines. They do have some available on their auction site but they do go for high prices. Price wise it all depended on the make and condition as to prices. Rack grade Inlands were priced at $419.00 plus shipping. Those were the cheapest ones available.

If you're lucky around here (mid-Colorado), you'll find a mixmaster for $650. The general price is hovering closer to $750, with some sellers apparently trying to retire on the proceeds of selling their carbine.

that's what I got mine for,
universals were going for $350 - $400
all the GI ones I've seen were $750 and up,
got tired of looking for a deal, and just bought one I liked

That's the way to go. When the supply from the CMP ended, prices went up. With the current insanity, they've gone up even more.

I'd pick up a couple spare magazines while you can still get them for $9.95 at AIM Surplus. (I gave a link in the Magazines section of the forum.)

Cheers,
Richard

I just picked up a rack grade cmp inland, 6 digit serial number. Unfortunately it was not for 419.00. Hopefully it will be worth a good penny by the time I hand it down to my son.

I recently saw about 7 rack grade guns on Gun Broke that started at $800. A dealer in TX had those listed as CMP guns. I believe they all sold for that or more.
