The M1 Bavarian Carbine is a special rifle with a very special and unique history. Please visit the site listed below:

You must be logged in to see this link.

This is the most important site for those who have an interest in this unique Carbine. The site owner and operator is James Mock. He is a great guy who is interested in researching and preserving the history of the Bavarian. If you have one, share the information so that we can all learn more. If you are a student of the Carbine, you will enjoy learning and sharing all you can about this important variation.

This is the place!

Thanks. There is a lot in the works on the M1 carbines in Germany. Spent many hours today working on the Berlin web page. Not quite ready yet.

Anyone who has, or thinks they may have, a carbine used post WWII in Europe, feel free to send me an e-mail. I'm a perpetual student, always learning. I have a bunch of info, but the more I learn the more I realize just how little I really know.

No serial number list. All of those carbines were just grabbed put of the reserves and handed over. They didn't worry about serial number lists. BTW, Jim Mock now has a Bavarian with a Mauser style rear sight. I know, because I sold it to him....
