It's a sorry situation right now for our troops. The new Sig is being issued to them and it still has flaws in the design that Sig has been unable to work out or has decided not to work out. Along with the new pistol, the Army has designed two new rounds of ammo. One a FMJ and the other a hollow point. Seems the new Sig does OK with the hollow point but it does not work well with the new FMJ as it jams quite a bit. The Sig has a problem with ejecting unfired rounds when the firearm is discharged so if you have a full magazine and fire it till empty that only half of the rounds fired and the other half is sitting on the ground unfired. But the one glaring problem is that if the pistol is loaded with a round in the chamber and it's dropped it will have a tendency to fire!! Not a safe condition for sure. It seems that Sig has known about this problems all the way back to the Model 250 from which this pistol was finally developed.

This flawed pistol is now being issued to our troops deployed to Afghanistan. If it were my son or daughter that it was offered to I would suggest that they turn it down and stick with the Beretta for now. To me it sounds like it's the bean counters at it again. Kind of like the last time with their interfering with the M16 in Vietnam and the ammo that was messed up for it by the bean counters.

The Bean Counters strike again; it seems like.

They are alive and well throughout our country they are especially present at the VA, and with Obama Care and in the US Congress.

Fight 'em when you find 'em. (Metaphorically, of course...)
