Reading one of those carbine books, I understood that Underwood had some receivers made for them. Does anyone know who made them for Underwood? There were 5- ?
Per War Baby! Intertype Corporation, Universal Winding Company, United Shoe Machine Company, Singer Manufacturing Company and Inland Division (lined out).
No,there were four sub-contractor for Underwood and Jack listed them. The line outs are not listed or considered to be sub- contractors. They made many of the receivers that Underwood used to make carbines. When Underwood's contract ended they sold their remaining sub-contract receivers to Winchester.
