It is my understanding the Win. type I production ran from ser#1,000,000 to #1,349,999, Oct. 1942-Dec. 1943. The ser# on my MI is 1154526 which is as I understand it should be a type I. Should this stock have the style of I (eye) cut in it rather than the the straight cut? Or was the eye cut in a manufacturer other that Win? Also I have a mag. pouch & stamped on the back G. & R. Co., 1943. What mfg. might this be? Thanks for the help.

It looks to me that your SN is right at the transition of Type 1 and 2 so maybe either could be correct. Lets see what others say. Don't know the manufacturer of the pouch you mentioned but my resource says it should be a tan Type 1 stock pouch. There are reproductions of this pouch floating around.

My notes say:
WRA used Type 1, I cut Hi-wood from first production to about 1,153,591.
WRA used Type 2, Oval cut Hi-wood from 1,067,649 until end of first serial number block.
So clearly plenty of overlap.

The Large Boxed WRA Over GHD With The Crossed Cannons From Start to about 1,067,649.

The UN Boxed W.R.A. over G.H.D. With The Crossed Cannons Came in at 1,055,513.

So we also see a short period of overlap here also..... Between Large Boxed WRA/GHD and UN Boxed W.R.A./G.H.D.

In 44 WRA dropped the letters, so it was just the CC alone, used later during their 5+ mil to end of production.
