Which side should the head of the pin be on? Operating rod side is what I was thinking. But I guess being in my 60's I can't remember nothing any more. Thanks for helping!

Op rod side. At least that is what we do. The pin will fit from either side. Just be careful when you remove the action from the stock under field conditions.

That pesky front take down pin may be loose between the receiver and trigger housing and may fall out. Night time. Lost forever. Gone with the wind.
