For any of the forum members who have the reference books, I recently came across an Underwood action w/ a serial # of 26406xx . What date range of Underwood bbl should I be looking for to screw into this receiver?
Thanks in advance.

Check here for bbl dates on other Underwood carbines. Maybe you will find one close to yours.

The proper date on a barrel for your serial number should be about 11-43 or 12-43.

That's kind of why I don't think it's that important that my wife knows any more about it than "it's just a project, dear".
