There is a c-type sling on ebay from a US seller. I have one at home which compares exactly to this one. I am not sure if mine is a USGI sling, because of the very strong an different webbing. Any help welcome to identify this sling.

I'd want a better picture, but from what I can see. it looks like an early thick webbing sling. Could be the real McCoy.

Thank you jimb16. I've never heard from these slings. I thought the first slings were khaki with a round buckle and thin web and later OD green with a flat buckle. Do you know more about McCoy slings?

Appears USGI to me as well. The "real McCoy" is slang here in the US for "authentic."

Thank you WarBaby. My opinion is the webbing is to thick to mount the sling through the narrow slot between stock cutout and oiler. I tried to install and it was just possible because of the missing metal end tip.

That is one of the main reasons that they went to a thinner webbing. You had to flatten the C clip and thattended to loosen it.
