I just acquired an Underwood, #2650331 and have a question. It is a B marked receiver (which from what I have read so far was Singer Mfg co) with the B struck on the flaming bomb. There is also a lighter struck (what I think is an R) next to it, see pictures. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
It doesn't mean anything and could have been put there anytime during the life of the carbine. Could have been someone just messing around in an arms room on a base. No way of knowing.
