Russ;

Your Mom was tore up I know. I was only 2 1/2 hrs old when my Dad had to report in at Camp Fannin TX to start his basic. I remember Mom telling me how upset she got when he left us. But, yours, mine, and countless hundreds of thousands, followed orders. God bless them all .

Regards.

never served, but my dad and his father were both army. my dad served 3 tours in viet nam. my step father is a three war vet catching the tail end of WWII, then korea, and viet nam. he just turned 80. I have always been around the military, living either on base or near one (currently at ft bragg nc) back in late 60's we were stationed in Iran (Tehran). that was quite an experiance for me as i was old enough to remember the time we spent there.

Never try to teach a Pig to sing. It bothers the Pig, and wastes your time.

I will be 63 in October. Served in the US Army 1966-1969, First Lieutenant during the TET offensive. Most exciting time of my life!
I collect all the main battle rifles and pistols of WWI and WWII, both axis and allied forces. I shoot them all. I only wish they could talk to me.
